Notice of Race
1 – ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The regatta is organised by Yacht Club Imperia and Porto Maurizio Yacht Club in collaboration with Yacht Club Marina degli Aregai, Circolo Nautico Arma, Yacht Club Sant’Ampelio, Circolo Velico Ventimigliese, Club del Mare di Diano Marina, Club Nautico San Bartolomeo al Mare and the organizational support of Assonautica Imperia
2 – PROGRAM
Wednesday September 07: arrivals, registration and inspections. Secretariats will open at 10.00 a.m.
Thursday September 08: Race – 1st warning signal at 12.00 p.m.
Friday September 09: Race
Saturday September 10: Race
Sunday September 11: parade, race and prize giving ceremony
For what concerns the warning signals, a communication will be exposed by 7.00 p.m. of the day before. If communications are not exposed it will be confirmed the 1st warning signal of the previous day. The Race Committee may modify the program for bad weather or for other circumstances.
3 – ELIGIBILITY AND CATEGORIES
The yachts that come under the regulations of Classic Yachts and Vintage Yachts 2014-2017 are allowed (approved by Executive Committee of CIM during the assembly of December 18, 2013).
– “Spirit of Tradition” yachts following the IRC rules
-Super Big Boats
-in case of large participation, the organization may individuate specific classes of one design
4 – ENTRIES
As decided by the Organizational Committee, entry forms shall be completed and returned to Assonautica Imperia by August 19, 2016:

The entry form must be completed by the appropriate entry fee and, limited to the first time entries, by a picture of the yacht and by a short history.
By 4 p.m. of September 07, 2016 the entry forms must be completed by the following documents:
– crew list:
a) for Italian participants the crew list must be completed by a copy of FIV card 2016 and a valid medical examination
b) foreigner participants need to conform the documents presented to our Race Office with their national sailing authority
– rating certificate (or its copy): CIM for vintage and classic yachts; IRC for “Spirit of Tradition” category;
– Sail Declaration Form for sails used during the races;
– insurance certificate (or a substitute declaration released by the insurance) where must be stated that the insurance coverage is extended also during sailing competitions, that the civil liability coverage is not lower than euro 1.500.000,00 and that, due to the premium payment, the insurance is valid for the whole racing period.

The registration fee includes mooring, free stay, electricity and water from 06 to 12 of September (included).

5 – RULES
The races will be governed by:
– World Sailing Rules 2013-2016
– the Rules for the Rating and the Racing of Vintage and Classic Yachts – CIM rules
– this Notice of Race
– the Sailing Instructions
– communications by RC or Jury
In case of a conflict of interpretation the Italian language will prevail
6 – ADVERTISING
Any kind of advertising is forbidden (Regulation 20 World Sailing) and the limitations are extended to the whole duration of the event. The yachts must show the official logos of the event which will be given during the registration to the Vele d’Epoca.
7 – COURSES
Courses will be specified within the Sailing Instructions.
8 – SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available at the Race Office during the day of registration.
9 – SCORING AND AWARDS
Scoring System will be the Low Point.
The maximum number of races will be 4.
Regatta will be valid with 1 race completed.
When 4 races will be completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of its races scores excluding the worst score; when 3 or less races will be completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of its races scores.
The first three places in each class will be awarded.The “Sister’s city Regatta – Imperia/Newport” trophy will be assigned during the Final Prize Giving Ceremony on Sunday 11 September 2016 (time will be announced during the 5 days). Other prizes established by OA can be delivered.
10 – LOGISTICS
The incoming yachts need to contact the reference port.
11 – IMAGE RIGHT
All the participants, the owners and their guests grant free and complete permission to the Organising Authority for each video and photo shot of boats and people that is made during the course of championship and that it can be published or broadcasted to press or any means of information and communication, including television, whether advertising or press release or information.
12 – RESPONSIBILITY
Organising Committee, Race Committee, Jury and the whole management refuse any responsibility in case of damages to objects or people, injuries or death within the framework of the regatta which includes before, during and after the regatta. Competitors participate to the races at their own risk and under their personal responsibility in all respects.
