Organization

The Assonautica Provinciale of Imperia with the support of the Comité International de la Méditerranée and the sponsorship and cooperation of the Italian Vintage Yachts Association, the collaboration of the Italian Naval League of Imperia, the Sailing Club of Imperia and the Imperia Mare S.p.a., with the contribution and support of the Region Liguria, the Province and Town of Imperia, the Chamber of Commerce, the Riviera dei Fiori Agency for Tourism Promotion organizes the 10th Vintage and Classic Sails Meeting of Imperia.

Programme

Admission

- Vintage yachts built before 1950
- Classic yachts built between 1950 and 1974
- Metric classes and Dragons

Admission to the 10th Vintage and Classic Sails Meeting of Imperia is open to all wooden and steel sailing yachts built before 1950 (vintage yachts) and 1974 (classic yachts), to classic and vintage sails replicas where meeting the project and building criterias typical of those yachts according to article no. 3 of the "A.I.V.E. Regulations concerning tonnage, requirements and equipment for the vintage and classic yachts". All yachts must have a certificate of tonnage valid for 1998 issued by A.I.V.E. (Italian Vintage Yachts Association).
Yachts lacking this certificate must require one from A.I.V.E. undergoing inspection by AIVE tonnage measurers.

Entries

Entries must reach the Assonautica of Imperia (c/o Camera di Commercio di imperia, Via Tommaso Schiva, 29 - 18100 Imperia - Phone 0183/752700 - Fax 0183/752701) before august 31, 1998 enclosing a picture of the yacht.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept entries according to rule 76.1 of the ISAF regulations.

Entry Fees

- ITL 550.000 LOA over 23 mtrs
- ITL 500.000 LOA 18 to 23 mtrs
- ITL 400.000 LOA 13 to 18 mtrs
- ITL 350.000 LOA up to 13 mtrs
or equivalent amount in foreign currency.
On entry, the crew list must be submitted to the Organizing Committee.

Rules

Races will be run according to 1997/2000 ISAF Regulations, the additional FIV standards, the Rules for Classes integrated by the A.I.V.E. ones, the "A.I.V.E. and C.I.M. Rules for tonnage, requisites and equipment of Vintage and Classic Yachts", the present Notice of Race, the Race Instructions and possible variations that will be announced.
Metric Classes Races will be run in accordance with the A.I.V.E. application rules for compensation (time on time) attached to the Race Instructions. The 12 m. S.I. races will be valid for the A.I.V.E. Cup.

F.I.V. Membership

All italian crew members must be F.I.V. members for the current year and have the medical check-up stamp. Foreign crew members must be registered with their respective federations.

Advertising


Advertising is allowed according to what stated in appendix G of 1997/2000 ISAF Regulations for class A.
12 m. S.I. class yachts can advertise only according to what stated in A.I.V.E. Regulations for 1998. Any other advertising when boats are moored or during transfers from mooring places to the race field can be authorized only by the Organizing Committee.

Race Instructions

The race instructions will be available from september 9 at 3 p.m. at the Races Desk.

Briefing

The briefing will be held on september 9, 1998 at 5 p.m.

Results

The classification will be determined according to the results of the three races in programme. The 12 m. S.I. classes results will be determined following the present Notice of Race.

Logistic

The boats will be moored free of charge by Imperia Mare S.p.a. (phone 0183/666.705 - 667.453 = VHF channel 9) in Imperia Porto Maurizio tourist harbour from the 5 to the 13 of september. From the 14 to the 18 of september the boats running the Imperia-Montecarlo race, Italian Yacht Club Autumn Cup, will be guest of Marina degli Aregai harbour.

Prizes Awarding

Prized will be awarded on september 13, 1998.
