1 - ORGANIZATION
The Assonautica Provinciale of Imperia under the aegis of C.I.M. - Comité International de la Méditerranée, under the aegis and with the cooperation of A.I.V.E. - Associazione Italiana Vele d’Epoca and Yacht Club Italiano, with the assistance of Imperia Mare S.p.a., Imperia branch of Lega Navale Italiana and Circolo Velico of Imperia, with the contribution and under the aegis of Regione Liguria, Provincia and Città of Imperia, Chamber of Commerce, Prefettura, organizes the “Vele d’Epoca di Imperia – Trofeo Prada 2002”.

The number of races in programme is fixed in article 12.

4 – ELIGIBILITY
The Vele d’Epoca di Imperia – Trofeo Prada 2002 is open to:

• all sailing yachts with wood or metal construction, launched prior to 1950 (vintage yachts) and 1976 (classic yachts) or to the replicas of vintage and classic yachts provided they are corresponding to the design and construction criterions of these yachts as defined in the “Rules for the rating and the Racing of Vintage and Classic Yachts - C.I.M. 2001-2004”
• metric classes and one-design yachts answering the above mentioned rules provided that at least three have been launched prior to 1976
• “Spirit of Tradition” yachts invited by the Organizing Commitee and provided they are corresponding to the criterions settled by C.I.M. technical committee.

Vintage and classic yachts must have a C.I.M. rating certificate valid for year 2002, issued by A.I.V.E. or by any other association recognised by C.I.M. – Classic Yacht Division. 
Yachts having not a valid 2002 C.I.M. rating certificate must apply for it within July 31, 2002, comply to the related dispositions, namely to the inspection visit of the A.I.V.E. measurers.
All Metre and One-design classes yachts must have a valid rating certificate issued by their Class Association or a certificate issued for the purpose by A.I.V.E..
“Spirit of Tradition” yachts must have a valid IRC certificate.

5 - ENTRIES
Entries must reach the Assonautica of Imperia (c/o Camera di Commercio di Imperia, Viale Matteotti, 48 - 18100 Imperia - phone 0183/793262 - Fax 0183/275021) no later than August 31, 2002 enclosing a picture of the yacht.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept entries according to rule 76.1 of the ISAF regulations.
Due to the limited moorings availability, priority will be given in accordance with the date of the entry form receipt.

6 - ENTRY FEES
- Euro 370 Lft over 23 mtrs
- Euro 320 Lft 18 to 23 mtrs
- Euro 270 Lft 13 to 18 mtrs
- Euro 220 Lft up to 13 mtrs
or equivalent amount in foreign currency.
On entry, following documents must be submitted to the Race Committee.
- Crew list
- Copy of the rating certificate according to article 4
- Copy of Insurance policy 
- Sails declaration filled on the special form

7 - RULES
Races will be run according to 2001/2004 ISAF Racing Rules and by the Italian National Authority (F.I.V.) special Rules, the “Rules for the Rating and Racing of Vintage and Classic Yachts – C.I.M. 2001-2004”, the Metre Classes Rules together with the Rules issued by A.I.V.E., this Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions and variations that will eventually be announced.
In case of conflict, the Sailing Instructions will prevale on the above Rules and the Italian text will prevale on the English one.

8 – LICENSES
All Italian competitors must comply with F.I.V. Rules (regular membership card).
Foreign competitors must comply with all the rules provided by their National Authority about sailing licenses.

9 – ADVERTISING
Advertising is allowed under what established for category “A” according to appendix 1 of Appendix, section II of ISAF Rules.
The limitation lasts all the meeting long and 
yachts are expected to comply with either when at mooring or when reaching and leaving the racing field.

10 – SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available from September 11 at 3 p.m. at the Race Office.

11- CATEGORIES AND GROUPS
Yacht will be divided in the following categories:
- Vintage yachts
- Classic yachts
- Metre Classes and one-design yachts
- “Spirit of Tradition” yachts
Should the number allow it, they’ll be further divided according to rig and overall length.

12 – SCORING
The scoring will be made on the results of the races in programme. 
Yachts of vintage, classic and Spirit of Tradition categories: races in programme will be maximum four and in such eventuality the scoring will be based on the best three results. No discharge will take place if less than three races will be held.
A result on corrected time will be given for each regrouping and class.
Corrected times will be calculated according to the rating rule as per “Rules for the Rating and the Racing af Vintage and Classic Yachts – C.I.M. 2001-2004”.
Low-point scoring system will be used.
Metre and One-design Classes yachts: races in programme will be maximum seven and in such eventuality the scoring will be based on the best results but one if the races will be more than four.
The scoring will be made on elapsed time if no less than three participants for each class will attend.

Should there be less than three competitors in a class, the Race Committee reserves the right to combine (put competitors together) competitors, providing an adequate corrective coefficient for the calculation of the respective scoring posting a note on nthe Official Board before 7.00 pm of September 11.

13 - BRIEFING
Briefing will be held on September 11, 2002 at 6.30 p.m.

14 - LOGISTIC
Yachts will be moored free of charge by Imperia Mare S.p.a. (phone 0183/666.705 - 667.453 = VHF channel 9) in Imperia Porto Maurizio tourist harbour from 7 to 20 September.
