Organization
The Assonautica Provinciale of Imperia with the support of the C.I.M. - Comité International de la Méditerranée and the sponsorship and the A.I.V.E. - cooperation of the Italian Vintage Yachts Association , the collaboration of the Italian Naval League of Imperia, the Sailing Club of Imperia and the Imperia Mare S.p.A., with the contribution and support of the Region Liguria, the Province and Town of Imperia, the Chamber of Commerce, the Riviera dei Fiori Agency for Tourism Promotion organizes the “Vele d’Epoca di Imperia – Trofeo Prada 2000”.

Admission
Admission to the Imperia Vintage Sails – Prada Trophy 2000 is allowed to:

  • wooden or steel yachts built before 1950 (vintage yachts) and before 1976 (classic yachts) and to those vintage and classic yachts replicas complying with the criterias established by the C.I.M. 2000 “Rules for vintage and classic yachts tonnage and races”;
  • metric and one-design yachts answering the above mentioned rules. 

Vintage and classic yachts must be in possession of a tonnage certificate valid for year 2000, issued either by A.I.V.E. or by another C.I.M. recognized association. Yachts lacking this certificate may obtain one from A.I.V.E. undergoing all procedures necessary for the issuing of these certificates, including inspection and payment of the corresponding amount. Metric and one-design yachts must be in possession either of a valid tonnage or conformity certificate issued by their respective class associations or one issued by A.I.V.E.

Entries
Entries must reach the Assonautica of Imperia (c/o Camera di Commercio di Imperia, Viale Matteotti, 48 - 18100 Imperia - phone 0183/793234 - Fax 0183/275021) before august 31, 2000 enclosing a picture of the yacht. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept entries according to rule 76.1 of the ISAF regulations.

Entry Fees
- ITL 700.000 LOA over 23 mtrs
- ITL 600.000 LOA 18 to 23 mtrs
- ITL 500.000 LOA 13 to 18 mtrs
- ITL 400.000 LOA up to 13 mtrs
or equivalent amount in foreign currency.
On entry, the crew list must be submitted to the Race Committee. 

Rules
Races will be run according to 1997/2000 ISAF Regulations, the additional F.I.V. Standards, “C.I.M. 2000 Rules for vintage and Classic Yachts tonnage and races,” Metric classes rules and the additional A.I.V.E. ones for these classes, the present Notice of Race, the Race Instructions and variations that will eventually beannounced.
In case of dispute Race Instructions will prevail over the above mentioned Rules. 

F.I.V. Membership
All italian crew members must be F.I.V. members for the current year and have the medical check-up stamp.
Foreign crew members must be registered with their respective federations. 

Advertising
Advertising is allowed according to Appendix G of 1997/2000 ISAF Rules for class A. Any advertising when boats are in the harbour or during transfers from moorings to the race field must be expressly authorized by the Organizing Committee. 

Race Instructions
Race instructions will be available from september 13 at 3 p.m. at the Races Desk. 

Categories and Groups
Yacht will be divided in the following categories: 

  • Vintage yachts;
  • Classic yachts;
  • Metric and one-design yachts.

Should the number allow it, they’ll be further divided according to rigging type and overall length.

Rankings
The classification will be determined according to the results of the three races in programme. 
Rankings will be drawn up in compensated time for each one of the categories or groups in which the yachts will be devided.
Compensated times will be calculated according to the already mentioned “C.I.M. 2000 Rules for vintage and classic yachts tonnage and races”.
The minimum score will be adopted.
Metric and one-design yachts classifications will be drawn up in real time when at least four competitors for each category will race.
It will be adopted the minimum score.
In case less than four partecipants should be bound to race in a metric or one-design yachts category the Race Committee will gather them in another group announcing instructions and compensations on September 13, within 7 p.m.

Briefing
Briefing will be held on September 13, 2000 at 6.30 p.m. 

Logistic
The boats will be moored free of charge by Imperia Mare S.p.a. (phone 0183/666.705 - 667.453 = VHF channel 9) in Imperia Porto Maurizio tourist harbour from the 9 to the 17 of september. 

Prize giving
Prizes will be awarded on september 16, 2000.
